Abstract

The current international business environment is undergoing profound transformation under the combined influence of interconnected external non- financial factors. The growing geopolitical instability, digital transformation, increasing regulatory requirements, environmental challenges, socio-demographic changes, and information security threats are fundamentally reshaping the conditions for enterprises operating in international markets. Hence, traditional approaches focusing primarily on economic and financial factors are no longer adequate for explaining the complexity of ongoing transformations. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the transformation of the international business environment under the impact of external non-financial factors, and to propose a conceptual framework for its analysis. The study reviews recent scholarly approaches to the analysis of external non-financial factors affecting international economic activity, systematizes their main groups and manifestations, examines their impact on the international economic activity of enterprises, and identifies the principal directions of transformation of the international business environment. A conceptual model explaining the transformation of the international business environment is proposed, based on the systemic interaction of geopolitical, environmental, technological, regulatory, socio-demographic, and information security factors. The study has demonstrated that the transformation of the international economic environment is driven not by isolated factors but by their complex interaction, which manifests itself through cascading effects and creates a new context for international business. The proposed conceptual approach may be applied in developing international business strategies, improving enterprise risk management systems, and enhancing enterprises’ adaptability to complex changes in the international economic environment.
