Abstract

Abstract. The article examines the issue of improving the management processes of airport ground handling as a key factor in the sustainable functioning of aviation infrastructure. It is substantiated that effective management of ground handling directly affects the operational stability, flight safety, economic efficiency and environmental balance of the functioning of the aviation system. The analysis of modern approaches shows that the integration of sustainable development principles into ground handling management is a strategic condition for increasing the competitiveness of airports. Particular attention is paid to the digital transformation of processes, the implementation of intelligent road surface management systems, electrification of ground equipment and emission monitoring. It is determined that the combination of environmental and technological strategies allows simultaneously reducing operating costs and improving the quality of service. The study shows that the sustainability of ground operations depends on the balanced interaction of three key components: technological, managerial and regulatory. Electrification of equipment, optimization of ground transport routes, life cycle management of road surfaces and improvement of energy efficiency contribute to reducing emissions and ensuring the durability of infrastructure. In this case, the participation of stakeholders is of particular importance - from government agencies to operators and local communities, which determines the effectiveness of the implementation of sustainable practices. The work emphasizes the importance of creating an integrated management system based on the principles of planning, control, monitoring and continuous improvement. A conceptual model for improving ground handling management processes is proposed, which includes strategic sustainability planning, digitalization of management procedures, implementation of Pavement Management Systems, use of data analytics for repair forecasting, as well as the formation of a culture of environmental responsibility among personnel. The model is aimed at harmonizing the economic, environmental and social goals of aviation enterprises. Its implementation allows to increase the level of operational efficiency, reduce the risks of failures, optimize the use of resources and improve the image of airports as centers of sustainable development. Thus, the improvement of airport ground handling management processes is considered as a multifactorial system that combines engineering and technological solutions with management approaches aimed at resource conservation and environmental safety. The practical implementation of the proposed approaches will ensure the long-term stability of aviation infrastructure, reduce the environmental footprint and increase the efficiency of airport resource use in accordance with the goals of sustainable development of the aviation sector.
