Statistical Analysis of Related Services of Auditor Firms in Ukraine

Abstract

A review of the essential meaning ofaudit and audit services, and of the nomenclature of services that can he rendered by auditors (auditorfirms) is contained. Results of the authors ’study into users ’ (business entities) satisfaction with related auditor services, consultancyauditor services, other categories o f auditor services, by number of user orders and sales of services, made on the basis o f statistical data from the Auditor Chamber o f Ukraine, isgiven, complemented by information obtainedfrom surveys of users of audit services. Also,comprehensive description o f the segments where auditors are involved as consultants of business entities engaged in foreign economic activities is given.The above analysis shows that external audit in Ukraine is capable to meet the needs of business entities in related services, mainly concerned with agreed procedures (such asmaking analysis of financial reporting, audit o f contract-based relations, calculations etc.). Consultancy services rendered by auditors are qualified answers on situational questions of business entities. The interviews o f business entities give evidence of the high demandforrelated auditor services. In view of this, the authors come to the conclusion that auditors need to improve the professional qualities, extend the nomenclature o f services they are capableto render, develop new technologies and enhance the quality of the services.
